They're HERE!

8:36 AM

I love professional photos.

I feel deprived that we didn't do them regularly, while growing up. Sorry Mom, kinda kidding. Is it weird that this is one of the things I was really looking forward to when I had my own family. Since I already spilled the beans about how much time I spent on selecting our outfits (via this post), I thought I'd share a few with you.

I love having these memories captured for a multitude of reasons. I think it is essential to have professional pics of L taken every year, memorializing her growth. Obviously my iPhone has nothing on an actual, real life camera. Having someone else capture the candid moments is priceless. It also makes it more fun when you know the photog!

So, my shirt wasn't that flattering, but I can't change that now. I did like how the contrasting patters turned out, even though you can't see them. And we need to work on J feeling more comfortable taking the pics, he hasn't quite mastered what to do with his extremities ;)

It is NO secret that our lives revolve around L, although she does not appear on here. If I had my oversharing ways, I'd proudly incorporate her here. However, out of respect for J, I keep that part of our lives off the blog. I wish I could share her beautiful smile with you and our actual family photos, but those are memories for us and our loved ones.

So, here are a few little nuggets of J and I. And NO, these are not engagement photos :)
I mean, I totally get why everyone keeps asking these are engagement photos, but really? Is that how I'd tell the world?!? It was such a fun, relaxed session and I think our pics accurately depict just that. We laughed so much, it didn't feel like we were even there to take pics. The first pic we are totally trying to out head-butt each other, but I'm pretty sure Liz wanted us to look cute and lovey.

Just in case you are in the Sacramento area and looking for an awesome photog, check out Liz!

I'm even more excited to use a couple of the pictures for our Christmas cards, which is another thing that I'm obsessed with. I love sending out Christmas cards every year, even when I was single and didn't have cute pics to incorporate! I'm not sure what I love more, receiving them or sending them?!? I'm such an eager beaver, they are already ordered and should be arriving shortly after Thanksgiving!

As we remember to be extra thankful this week, I can't help but be thankful for everything that is my life at the moment. It lacks perfection, but I am grateful for that. Through the smiles, tears, hard work, and love...I am thankful for right now, today, and what tomorrow has to offer.
Give thanks, be happy, and enjoy the moment
