WIAW - Wild Card Goodness

10:42 AM

In honor of the SF Giants NLDS clinch last night, I'll reflect on the night that got them here...

If you don't follow baseball, then I'm sorry. If you do, then you know what the Wild Card game is all about.

MLB 101, real quick - skip if you already know this! Basically, the Wild Card is a one game elimination to see if you move on to the next round of the playoffs, the Division Series. There are two leagues within the MLB, the American League and the National League. Each league has a Wild Card game to determine who will be the fourth team in the NLDS/ALDS. My Lovers, the SF Giants are in the National League, so they were vying for a spot in the NLDS.

Now you have some context, if you chose to read, you know how it all works. You also see why this game was so important as a fan. So, I called up my fellow Giants lovers and we decided to meet up at Clark's Corner for the game. The game started at 5:07PM (PST), so we were able to hit up their Happy Hour, as well as their regular menu...since we were there for over three hours!

We scored a great table in the back, which had a perfect view of their projector that was showing the game. The only time we left our seats, was to use the bano. Otherwise, we sat and watched the entire game from first pitch to the WIN by my Gmen!
Those spotlights were annoying!
Gluttonous is probably the best word to describe our intake that evening...but you be the judge for yourself.
Raspberry Stoli & Sprite x2
Parmesan Panko Zucchini Fries
Piggie Back Mac
Mini Loaded Fries
Mini Dippers - swiss cheese, horseradish mayo, au jus
The Burger- certified Angus beef, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar, house aioli, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun
House Red
We left completely stuffed to the brim and booze coming out of our ears, but wholeheartedly happy!

Fast forward almost a week later, to last night. The Gmen were up 2 to 1 in the series, which is out of five games if needed. A win would mean they would move onto the NLCS (Championship Series)! Lucky me (re: sarcasm) my indoor soccer game coincided with the start of the NLDS Game 4 start time. So right after the game, I ran over to the Wench's house to watch the rest of the game. We decided to order some pizza so we could relax at the house, and keep our sweaty selves hidden from the public.

Our SF Giants watching, eating induced gluttony continued with some Mountain Mikes pizza.
Chicken Club Pizza
We also ordered bread sticks & a pepperoni pizza!

If I eat good, my boys play well...proven fact!
